This 1960s A-Frame cottage, located in the heart of Metamora’s horse country, underwent a full interior and exterior renovation in 2015. The goal of the project was to recreate the dated 3100 SF structure into a rustic family cottage and retreat overlooking a private lake.
The renovation included striping down the exterior to the original structure. Weathered cedar shakes and board and batten were selected to ensure the structure blended into its natural environment. Two weathered cedar decks overlooking the lake were added to further connect the users to the breathtaking surroundings.
The interior features two bedrooms, two bunkrooms, a great room, kitchen, dining room and entertainment area. The cottage’s unique y-shaped floor plan allows for a dramatic entrance and balconies with direct views of the lake from both bedrooms. The outside was brought inside with rustic v-groove paneling throughout the interior.
This retreat’s unique architecture and amazing natural surroundings makes it unlike any other.
